Reaching out....Date posted:01st Mar 2024, 06:24
From: Simon Rowson
I am Simon Richard Rowson (born 1963), son of Harold Richard Rowson (1920-2009) and grandson of John Thomas Rowson (dates?) both of Edmonton, London. I have (had?) a sister, Lynda Iris Rowson (married name Brown). As you can probably tell, we weren't a very close family but, before I sign out, I'd like to hear from any direct relatives who may be out there.

Hello, I’m posting on behalf of someone who grew up with Jack and George Rowson (also Rita the eldest and Janet) in Eltham, London SE9. He is now 97 so it would have been back in the 20s and 30s, in Kenwood Road. He would love to know what happened to them, so if they are part of your family he and I would be grateful to know. Many thanks. Anne

Hello - brilliant site - and guestbook. I am researching Samuel Rowson father to Mary who married Thomas Henry Cox- born about 1837. On the 1871 census I have her place of birth as Louth, Lincs. In 1891 and 1901 is states Newton Toney, Wiltshire as place of birth. Perhaps Thomas married twice and both ladies named Mary. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hello there, A couple of years ago my family found out that my father's biological father was Trevor Rowson from Nantyglo; this was previously unknown to my father, and came to us all as quite a shock. I've recently become interested in seeking out other Rowsons, so if anyone has any information on family links, alive or passed, it would be great to chat! All the best, William

Just read your post on guest book, many years ago I lived very near Trevor and his wife and sons, I've not seen them for a long time but I could perhaps fill in some gaps if it's the same person. His wife was Sheila, and 3 sons were ceri, Shaun and Liam, Trevor became a local historian for nantyglo and blaina but I heard he died some time ago. Hope this helps

I have just been poking around my family tree, specifically the Wilkinson side. My Grandfather's half-sister(his mother + step father), Catherine Amelia Cardozo, married Herbert Arthur G. Rowson in Edmonton, Middlesex in 1907. That makes her my Great Aunt, and Herbert my Great Uncle. Did they have children? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Waters are muddied ad Great Grandma married 3 times!

ROWSON FAMILY - EDMONTONDate posted:01st Sep 2017, 07:33
From: Paul Rowson
Hi, I noticed on your post mention of a ROWSON relative from Edmonton in Middlesex, England. My Father, Roy John Rowson, was born and grew up in this area and I believe his Father's name was John or Jack and I think that he re-married. Do you have any more information?? He would be my Grandfather and was originally married to Doris Violet Doyle, (I think), as she dies in 1973 when I was a boy. I now live in Australia with my wife and two sons. Any news or information woudl be greatly appreciated. Regards

Martha RowsonDate posted:26th May 2013, 15:05

Does anyone know anything about Martha Rowson, who as a young girl acted in four silent films in South Africa (between 1916 and 1918). It is possible that she might have had a brother called Bobby (Robert?), who also appeared in a film at that time.
